That's what happened to AVM Shorts Cave Spider Roller Coaster and The Dolphin Kingdom.

It feels like the reaction to the Unity performance, made Ubisoft scratch everything. Even the things that were good. That game's mocap was unreal. The cinematography itself, helped the already good animations. I didn't care much for the story at the time, but when you go back, it's insane. Especially on PC. The carefully selected camera angles, closeups, the good dialogue lol. Even some Unity side mission cutscenes, were better than the main important RPG era cutscenes. And Unity's were all REAL TIME cutscenes. Now, with the rpg, the high detail cutscenes are all pre rendered and rare. And only there do they use mocap. I would prefer less cutscenes done really well, instead of the RPG era's jam packed conversations that look like mass effect andromeda. Or without mocap, they could still be good like they were in AC3. This ai generated animations are just terrible.

It's the dialogue options lol. Giving the player so many options is obviously going to cause them to lose detail. If they were to mo-cap every single player response or action, the game development time would increase by at least 2-3 years. It'd be impossible for them to release these games so fast. We'd get an AC game every 4-5 years rather than every 2-3.

The teeth on a model should be slightly more apart, but other than that this model is simply perfect

I despise the last two assassins creed because of this. The unnecessary ballooning of the game's scope results in the loss of its soul. They literally feel like made by an ai. And I'm dissappointed that mirage seems like using the same animation system, despite it's smaller scale.

I don't understand UA-cam algorithm and whatever. But man you're really underrated

as a lowly in-between, I am not qualified to judge them but as far as knowledge goes, older ac game cutscenes stand way above the recent game. Not all bad, some are good like the cutscene Eivor chatting with Basim in the forest, which is the good one. But they have so many cutscenes that the good ones are drowned under waves of bad animation

I actually prefer the original one more since it looks more authentic and the character design is less Disney-like than what every animation studio is trying to achieve.

To be fair, the animators aren't making any of these decisions. There are people in development making decisions about some of these things that have no experience or business doing so.
